During my Undergraduate studies, I worked with Dr. Farhad to model both the thermal properties of commercial lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) and the dissipation of heat in these batteries by different fluid-cooled heat sinks. Using empirical methods and advanced data acquisition, multiphysics, and 3D modeling software, optimum parameters for a heat sink were determined.
I am currently working towards my Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in heat transfer and fluid flow. My laboratory work includes fabrication, testing, and analysis of various novel electrochemical devices. I am involved in the development of a hyper-flexible Lithium-ion battery (LIB) based on semi-solid electrode technology. My Master’s Thesis is focused on the optimization of semi-solid cathode materials for use in these hyper-flexible batteries.
